Add a bunker to the map
Your bunker inventory starts here. A bunker earns its condition score, inspection schedule, and history the moment its shape is on the map, so drawing the footprint is where every bunker begins. Trace it yourself, or let Turfile Vision find the edges for you.
Start the capture
Section titled “Start the capture”-
Open the Bunkers section and click the orange plus button on the left toolbar, Add bunker to map.
-
The “Add a bunker” chooser asks how you want to capture the footprint: Draw manually or Use Turfile Vision.
Option 1: Draw manually
Section titled “Option 1: Draw manually”Best when the bunker is shaded or tree-covered in the satellite photo, or when you just want full control.
-
The Draw bunker shape tool takes over the map: “Click to add corners. Double-click to close the shape.”
-
Click your way around the sand line, dropping a corner at each turn. Undo removes the last corner, Reset clicks starts over.
-
Double-click to close the shape (it needs at least three corners), then drag the points or midpoints until the outline hugs the sand.
-
Click Next.
Option 2: Use Turfile Vision
Section titled “Option 2: Use Turfile Vision”Turfile Vision reads the satellite view and finds the bunker edge for you, the same segmentation model you’d use to measure an area on the Home map.
-
Zoom in so the bunker fills a good chunk of the screen, then choose Use Turfile Vision.
-
Click once inside the sand. When the outline appears, refine it: positive clicks add sand the mask missed, negative clicks carve out grass and shadows.
-
Happy with the highlight? Click Use selection, and Vision hands you the finished outline.
Name it and save
Section titled “Name it and save”Either way, the Create bunker modal opens next.
-
Name the bunker (required). There’s no separate hole field, so put the hole in the name, like the placeholder “#3 Left front”.
-
Pick the Liner type, and set the Depth target min and max (defaults are 4 and 6 inches). Future sand-depth readings are scored against this range.
-
Click Save bunker. The shape is live for your whole team, and it picks up a 45-day inspection cadence automatically.
If something’s not working
Section titled “If something’s not working”If Use Turfile Vision is locked, it’s tied to your plan and role, and Draw manually works on every plan. If a Vision selection won’t take, zoom in closer so the bunker fills more of the screen and try a cleaner set of clicks. Anything else, email us at support@turfile.com.
