Keep inspections on schedule

Inspections are the “check it before it breaks” side of Turfile. Set a rhythm once, then work the list.

  • Irrigation and drainage run per-type clocks: every sprinkler head shares one rhythm, every valve another. Set them on the web in each section’s “Inspection Scheduler” under its “Settings” tab, with sliders from 0 to 52 weeks, then Save Settings. A type left at 0 never comes due. Full walkthroughs: irrigation and drainage.
  • Bunkers get a clock per bunker, set in the bunker’s own panel. See Inspections and cadence.
  • Trees are per-tree too. See Inspections and health.

An item’s clock reads “Never inspected”, “N days overdue”, or “Due in N day(s)”. And the rule that surprises people: never inspected counts as overdue. Brand-new items sort straight to the top of the list until someone checks them.

There’s no form. One action on the item says “I looked at it and it works.”

Open the item and click Currently Works on its Details tab. Turfile logs that you “observed this item as fully functional.” and the clock resets.

An inspection isn’t an issue or a to-do. It’s a stamp on the item and a line in its log. If the item’s not fine, that’s a different button: report an issue.

  • Web: the scheduler’s “Upcoming” tab sorts by urgency, never-inspected first, then overdue, then due soon. The toolbar badge counts everything overdue, never-inspected included.
  • Mobile: the Inspections tool is a read-only list with “Type”, “Hole”, and “Area” filters. You can’t edit cadences from the phone; sign-offs happen in the item’s drawer.

The item’s own Details tab talks you through it, from “No inspection logged yet. Please complete one to activate the schedule.” on a fresh item to “Inspection is overdue by N day(s). Please inspect as soon as possible to get back on schedule.” when it’s late.

If everything reads “Never inspected,” that’s just the clock waiting on you, it only knows what you’ve stamped, so work the list and the statuses spread out. Staff can’t open the scheduler; your assigned to-dos are your work list. And there’s no reminder push or email for inspections, the overdue badge and the lists are your reminder.
