Export your map
Sometimes the map needs to leave Turfile, for the consultant who wants shapefiles or the wall of the maintenance shop. Export map produces either a GIS package or a print-ready PDF sheet.
Pick a format
Section titled “Pick a format”Click Export map on the left toolbar. The panel opens with two formats:
- Shapefile (GIS): styled layers for QGIS and ArcGIS, plus an all-in-one package.
- PDF map sheet: a print-ready sheet of the exact area you frame.
Both share an include list: a checkbox per item type, with live counts, plus your drain lines. At least one has to be checked.
Export a shapefile
Section titled “Export a shapefile”-
Select Shapefile (GIS) and check the item types to include.
-
Click Export. The file downloads on its own once the server assembles it. Hand it to your GIS person.
Generate a PDF map sheet
Section titled “Generate a PDF map sheet”-
Select PDF map sheet and give the sheet a title.
-
Choose whether to print item names beside the items.
-
Frame the print area on the map, then generate the PDF. It downloads when it’s ready.
The PDF prints on a white background for now, the satellite imagery can’t be printed underneath yet.
